Parts of the floor flicker (appear and disappear) in the volumetric videos from time to time.

This happens if camera noise causes parts of the floor to be sometimes reconstructed within the reconstruction volume and sometimes not. In this case, please increase the “height above floor” setting in the reconstruction volume configuration in order to cleanly exclude the floor and then try again.

A person’s head looks inconsistent when looking towards different cameras.

In this case, please first verify that the camera calibration is accurate. If that is the case and the issue still happens, then it is likely caused by the depth bias of Time-of-flight cameras such as the Azure Kinect and Femto Bolt: The depth measurements of these cameras for human skin are too large because the infrared light that they send out gets reflected not only on the skin surface, but also below the surface. To correct this, ScannedReality Studio has the Depth bias compensation setting among its reconstruction settings. Try tuning this setting to obtain better consistency. We have found values from 8 mm to 15 mm to work well for different camera setups and scene content.

A person’s head, arms, fingers, or legs are too thin or too thick.

This likely has the same cause as the item above (“A person’s head looks inconsistent when looking towards different cameras”). Please see that item for how to address this.

A movement does not appear correctly in the result, for example, two hands that initially touch each other and then move away from each other remain “glued” together for a while.

This can happen as a result of video stabilization. Turning off video stabilization in the reconstruction settings avoids this.
